One of the major areas of Timber rot was the top section of the Transom, which had been repaired several times over the years and not the best quality.
The top section was carefully cut out and removed and a Template was made to cut out a new piece.
A large 8ft slab of Mahogany was ordered and collected from Stones Timber in Totnes and was a interesting challenge loading it on a car roof rack.
The Slab was machined down and eventually fitted as two sections.
