#1 A Bit of Paint Burning and Loads of Sanding!

Some of the first tasks when “Anya” arrived at the Boatyard was to visually inspect the the Boat planking as there were signs of damaged planking and rot.

So work began with a hot air Paint stripper gun to burn as much as possible the paint all over the Boat with taking extra precautions on the Antifouling paint and after a day or so most of it was removed.

The next stage was to sand back to bare wood which would take almost a week of hard work with a electric sander and a stack of Sanding Disks!.

While this work was going on, Norman the old Boatbuilder was working on replacing some of the Top Gunnel Planks and fitting a new shelf to give the top of the hull more strength.
